Getting Started

🔑Step 1 — Activate Your App

After purchase you’ll receive a confirmation email with your app link. Open the link on any device and enter the email address you used to purchase. You’ll only need to do this once per device. After activation the app works completely offline.

📲Step 2 — Install to Your Home Screen

Installing Snappit to your home screen makes it launch like a native app — full screen, no browser bar, instant access.

  1. Open your Snappit link in Safari (must be Safari — not Chrome)
  2. Tap the Share button ⬆️ at the bottom of the screen
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
  4. Tap Add in the top right corner
  5. Snappit now appears on your home screen ✅

On iPhone and iPad, Snappit must be opened in Safari to install. It will not install from Chrome or other browsers on iOS.

  1. Open your Snappit link in Chrome
  2. Tap Install when the banner appears at the bottom of the screen
  3. Or tap the three-dot menu → Add to Home Screen

  2. Click the install icon in the address bar (looks like a monitor with a down arrow)
  3. Click Install
👥Step 3 — Set Up Your Session
  1. Tap Let’s Start
  2. Enter name or initials for each student — up to 6 students per session
  3. Set the Level for each student: Isolation, Phrase, or Sentence
  4. Set the Placement for each student: Initial, Medial, Final, or Mixed
  5. Toggle Auto-advance on for individual sessions, off for groups
  6. Tap Start Session
Step 4 — During a Session

Scoring buttons:

Correct response
Incorrect response
P
Prompted response

Navigation: Use the ← → arrows to move back or forward through cards. Tap a student tab at the top to switch between students. Change Level or Placement anytime using the dropdowns in the top bar.

Session data saves automatically. If the app closes unexpectedly, reopen it and tap Resume to continue where you left off. Saved sessions expire after 24 hours.

📊Step 5 — Session Summary & Data

Tap Summary or End Session at any time to view accuracy data for each student. Accuracy percentage includes prompted responses.

Tap Download Session Data (CSV) to export your data. The CSV opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet app and includes: student name, level, placement, correct, incorrect, prompted, total trials, and accuracy.

Download before clearing

Tap Clear & End only after downloading your data. Clearing permanently erases all session data from the device. This cannot be undone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — completely. After your first activation Snappit works 100% offline. No internet connection is ever needed again on that device.

No. Snappit does not collect, transmit, or store any session data, student information, or clinical records on any server. All session data exists solely in your browser’s local storage on your own device and is never accessible to Smarty Pants Speech. This design is intentional — it keeps your clinical data fully under your control and supports your obligations under HIPAA and applicable privacy regulations.

Snappit works on any modern device with a browser — iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Chromebooks, Windows laptops and desktops, and Mac computers. One purchase covers all devices you personally own.

Yes. Screen sharing Snappit during a live teletherapy session with your own client is fully permitted. You may not send the app link to a client or caregiver for independent use outside of a supervised session.

Each clinician needs their own license. Your purchase email is your license credential — sharing it with a colleague is a license violation. Additional licenses can be purchased at smartypantsspeech.com. Volume pricing is available for schools and clinics — contact support@smartypantsspeech.com.

Open your Snappit link on the new device and enter your purchase email to activate. As long as your email is in our verified buyers list you’ll have instant access.

No. Snappit automatically saves your session data locally as you score. If the app closes unexpectedly, reopen it and you’ll see a Resume option. Saved sessions are kept for 24 hours. Data is only permanently erased when you tap Clear & End.

Unfortunately that data cannot be recovered. Snappit stores session data only on your device — we have no server copy. This is intentional for privacy reasons. We recommend downloading your CSV before every clear.

Yes, as long as you are the clinician using it. If multiple SLPs will use the same school device, each needs their own license. Contact us about school and clinic licensing options.

With Auto-advance on, the app moves to the next card automatically after you score — ideal for individual sessions. With Auto-advance off, you control when to advance — better for group sessions where you need time between students.

P stands for Prompted. Use it when a student produces the target sound correctly but needed a cue or prompt to do so. Prompted responses are counted as correct in the accuracy percentage — consistent with standard SLP data collection practice.

No. Once Snappit is activated and installed on your device it works fully offline indefinitely — regardless of what happens to Smarty Pants Speech. If we ever discontinue a product we will make every effort to release a final unrestricted version to existing license holders. See our full License Agreement for details.
