License Agreement & Terms of Use

We own it. You are licensed to use it.

1. Ownership & Copyright

Purchasing a license grants you permission to use the app under the terms described below. It does not transfer ownership of the app or any of its contents to you.

Smarty Pants Speech™ and Snappit™ are trademarks of Smarty Pants Speech. You may not use these names or marks without written permission.

2. What Your License Includes

Upon purchase of an Individual License you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to:

Use the app on any device you personally own or control
Use the app in individual and group therapy sessions
Use the app during teletherapy sessions via screen share
Use the app under clinical supervision as a supervising clinician
Use the app as a student clinician under the supervision of a licensed SLP who has purchased a license
Download and retain session data CSV exports for your own clinical records

3. What Your License Does Not Include

Your Individual License does not permit you to:

Share your activation credential or app access with any other clinician
Purchase one license for use by multiple clinicians simultaneously
Use the app in a school, clinic, or organization where multiple clinicians will access it without purchasing individual licenses for each user
Reproduce, copy, redistribute, or resell the app or any of its contents
Modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the app
Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
Use any images, content, or code from the app outside of the app itself
Upload or host the app on any platform, server, or network other than the one provided by Smarty Pants Speech

4. Multi-User & School/Clinic Licensing

If you wish to provide access to multiple clinicians within a school, clinic, or organization, each clinician must purchase their own Individual License.

5. Teletherapy Use

Screen sharing Snappit during a live teletherapy session with your own client is permitted under your Individual License. You may not give your APP credentials to a client, parent, or caregiver for independent use outside of a supervised session.

6. Access & Activation

Access to Snappit is granted via email verification on first launch. Your purchase email is your license credential. You are responsible for keeping your activation email secure. Sharing your activation email with another clinician constitutes a violation of this license agreement.

Smarty Pants Speech reserves the right to revoke access in cases of license violation without refund.

7. Device Use

Your Individual License permits installation and use on multiple devices that you personally own or control. For example, a personal iPad, a work laptop, and a personal phone used by the same clinician are all permitted under one license.

Devices owned or controlled by your school, clinic, or organization that will be used by multiple clinicians require separate licenses per clinician.

8. Updates & Continued Access

Device Continuity

Your activated installation will continue to function on any device where the app has been installed and cached. If you install the app on a new device, re-verification via your purchase email is required.

In the Event of Discontinuation

Smarty Pants Speech will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of any product discontinuation. In such an event, Smarty Pants Speech may, at its sole discretion, release a final unrestricted version of the app to existing verified license holders, allowing continued use without email verification on new devices. No refund obligation arises from product discontinuation where the buyer has had reasonable access to and use of the product.

Data Responsibility

Snappit does not collect, transmit, or store any session data, student information, or clinical records on any server. All session data exists solely on your device and is never accessible to Smarty Pants Speech. This design is intentional — it keeps your clinical data fully under your control and supports your obligations under HIPAA and applicable privacy regulations.

Smarty Pants Speech is not responsible for any session data lost due to device failure, browser cache clearing, or app uninstallation. Export your session data via CSV and save it to your own records after each session.

9. Refund Policy

Due to the digital nature of this product and the fact that access is granted immediately upon purchase, all sales are final. No refunds will be issued after your activation email has been delivered.

If you experience a technical issue with your app please contact us at support@smartypantsspeech.com before requesting a refund. We are committed to resolving technical issues promptly.

Exceptions may be made at the sole discretion of Smarty Pants Speech on a case-by-case basis.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Snappit Micro-Apps are provided as-is. Smarty Pants Speech makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the app’s fitness for any particular clinical purpose. Snappit is a clinician-led tool — clinical judgment remains the responsibility of the licensed professional using it.

Smarty Pants Speech is not responsible for any data loss resulting from device failure, browser clearing, or app uninstallation. Session data should be exported via CSV and saved to your own records promptly after each session.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Smarty Pants Speech shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use any Snappit Micro-App.

12. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved in the courts of Orange County, California.

14. Agreement

By purchasing and activating a Snappit Micro-App you agree to be bound by the terms of this License Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms do not activate or use the app.
